Baseball Game Preview: Conway Tigers vs. St. James Sharks

Conway is 2-8 against St. James since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Conway will head out to challenge St. James at 6:00 p.m. St. James took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Conway, who comes in off a win.

St. James will be up against a hot Conway squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Conway came out on top against Myrtle Beach by a score of 4-1 on Friday. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly three runs.

Meanwhile, St. James fell victim to Carolina Forest and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 9-0 to the Panthers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

St. James got a good showing from Caleb Kessler, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Kessler has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

St. James' loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Conway, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Conway came up short against St. James in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 5-1. Can Conway avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
