Basketball Recap: Logan Fisher's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Panther Valley over Blue Mountain

Panther Valley entered their matchup against Blue Mountain on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Panther Valley Panthers fell just short of the Blue Mountain Eagles by a score of 39-36. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 58-49 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan FIsher, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Wehr, who posted six points.

Even though they lost, Panther Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Panther Valley's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2. As for Blue Mountain, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Panther Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 68-39 victory against Pen Argyl on the 18th. As for Blue Mountain, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Exeter Township at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
