Recap: Wewoka Tigers vs. Vanoss Wolves
It was a good run, but the Wewoka Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 46-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Vanoss. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wewoka has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Wewoka still got an impressive performance from Timber Carter, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 45.5% of Wewoka's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jhaivyn Patton, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Wewoka's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-6. As for Vanoss, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season.
Wewoka won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Preston at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Preston is coming into the contest with four straight victories on the road, meaning Wewoka will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. Vanoss does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
