Basketball Recap: Navarre Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Navarre needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Gabrielle Johnson. The Navarre Raiders walked away with a 35-27 victory over the Walton Braves on Friday thanks in part to Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards. Navarre is 2-1 when Johnson posts eight or more boards, but 4-8 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Lacey Riley, who posted seven points in addition to five boards and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Navarre's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9. As for Walton, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-13.

Navarre will head out to face off against Milton at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Milton will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Navarre surely won't give up without a fight. As for Walton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 42-40 loss against Arnold on the 11th.
