Volleyball Recap: Western Wayne Wildcats vs. Abington Heights Comets
After flying high against Mountain View on Saturday, Western Wayne came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Abington Heights Comets on Tuesday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Comets recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.
Western Wayne started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-15, 25-15, 25-18.
John Pyatt paced Western Wayne's offense, picking up 11 kills. Pyatt got some help from Theo Black and his 22 assists. Logan Pauler controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 11-7. As for Abington Heights, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
Western Wayne has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Lackawanna Trail on the 23rd. As for Abington Heights, they will square off against Valley View at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
