Basketball Recap: Miami Springs Takes a Loss

Miami Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost to the Pinecrest Prep Crocs on the road by a 63-45 margin.

Gabriel Guzman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pinecrest Prep, putting up 30 points in addition to five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Castellon, who posted nine points along with six boards and six steals.

Miami Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Pinecrest Prep, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Miami Springs will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dade Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. After both having extra time off, Pinecrest Prep and Horeb Christian will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Horeb Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season.
