Basketball Preview: Williams Bulldogs vs. Western Alamance Warriors

Williams is 8-2 against the Warriors since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Williams Bulldogs will play host again and welcome the Western Alamance Warriors, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Williams pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 78-65 to Eastern Alamance. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (56), Williams still had to take the loss.

Williams' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Milton Turner, who scored 22 points, and Amarion Richmond who scored 18 points. Turner is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Rhodes, who scored ten points.

Meanwhile, Western Alamance's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight defeat. They suffered a tough 76-52 defeat at the hands of Southeast Alamance. Western Alamance was down 59-30 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Williams' loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Western Alamance, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-12.

Williams didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Warriors in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 55-49 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Western Alamance's James Newton, who scored 20 points along with two steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Williams still be able to contain Newton? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
