Hudsonville faced Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Hudsonville sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Christian. The victory was familiar territory for Hudsonville, who have now won seven matchups in a row.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Hudsonville got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 26-28, 25-17, 20-25, 15-12.

Leah Burlison paced Hudsonville's offense, picking up 17 kills. Burlison got some help from Sofie Sanders and her 19 assists. Megan Glass controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Hudsonville's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Christian, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-4.

Hudsonville and Christian will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Eagles will take on rival Grandville at 7:00 p.m. on the 18th. Meanwhile, Christian is set to face off against their familiar foe Forest Hills Eastern at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
