Soccer Game Preview: Midd-West vs. Troy

The Midd-West Mustangs will take on the Troy Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Midd-West will be strutting in after a victory while Troy will be coming in after a loss.

Midd-West is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let North Penn-Mansfield get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The contest was close at halftime, but Midd-West turned on the heat in the second half with two goals.

Maci Tittle and Ava Aitkins scored all three of Midd-West's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, Troy finally came back down to earth last Saturday. They came up short against Abington Heights, falling 7-1. Troy's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Midd-West has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8-1 record this season. As for Troy, their loss dropped their record down to 12-3.

Midd-West was able to grind out a solid victory over Troy in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, winning 3-1. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
