Softball Recap: Lindale Has No Trouble Against Athens

Lindale's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Athens Hornets with a sharp 10-4 win. Considering the Eagles have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Makynli Zemer, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Alyssa Potts was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Lindale has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Athens, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lindale will challenge rival Canton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Athens is set to square off against their familiar foe Brownsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
