Football Preview: Wetumka Chieftains vs. Thackerville Wildcats
The Wetumka Chieftains will square off against the Thackerville Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Wetumka is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Cyril just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 54-28 to the Pirates.

Despite the loss, Wetumka got top-tier performance from Dwayne Lowe, who rushed for 200 yards and three TDs, and also threw for 34 yards and one touchdown. Lowe's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 103 rushing yards. Wetumka also got help from Nick Taylor, who showed off his sure hands for 97 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Thackerville's offense. They had to suffer through a 62-0 loss at the hands of Weleetka. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Outlaws are ranked second).
Wetumka now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Thackerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
