Softball Recap: South Pittsburg Wins Going Away Against Moore County

South Pittsburg got themselves on the board against Moore County on Tuesday, but Moore County never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 11-0 victory. With that win, the Pirates brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Kaylee Kilgore was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kynleigh Rice, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Carmen Gonzalez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

South Pittsburg's record now sits at 4-2. As for Moore County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

South Pittsburg wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-1 defeat against Rhea County on the 21st. Moore County has also already played their next contest (against Fayetteville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
