 After losing to Penncrest the last time they met, Springfield decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Springfield Cougars had just enough and edged the Penncrest Lions out  4-3.
  Sean Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered  just two earned  (and one unearned) runs on two hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate, Springfield's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Michael Turner, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jake Lennon, who  went 1-for-3 with a  stolen base and two  RBI.
 Springfield pushed their record up to 7-9 with that  win, which was their third straight  on the road. As for Penncrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
 Springfield will look to defend their home field  on Wednesday against Strath Haven at 3:45  p.m. Strath Haven is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3  runs per game  this season. As for Penncrest, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Marple Newtown at 6:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Marple Newtown will roll in looking for their  sixth straight  victory, something Penncrest surely won't give up without a fight.
