The Ramona Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Helix Scotties at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Ramona is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with an 11-7 win over Morse. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Braelyn Bolen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Olivia Chandler was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Shayley Kitchen also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ramona kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They got five more hits than Morse's also-impressive total of 12.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Helix, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Mount Miguel a 16-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Scotties, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Vivienne Munoz tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on LaNiah Broom, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Nikaylah Domingo, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Ramona's record now sits at 15-12. As for Helix, their record is now 20-4.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ramona has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .448. However, it's not like Helix struggles in that department as they've averaged .507. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Ramona suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Helix when the teams last played back in March. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
