Softball Recap: Graves County Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Graves County entered their tilt with Mayfield on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 17-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 21-1 back in March.

Graves County's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-10. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Mayfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Graves County will take on Paducah Tilghman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Tornado's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mayfield, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 18-1 loss against Ballard Memorial on the 23rd.
