Softball Recap: Palisades Drops Highest Score of Season Against Fairfax

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palisades). They blew past the Fairfax Lions 18-8 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Dolphins in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won six in a row.

Sarah Feldman looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kharlee Sanders was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rikka Richardson, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple.

Palisades was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Palisades now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Fairfax, their defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Palisades is set to face off against their familiar foe Westchester at 3:00 p.m. on the 23rd. Meanwhile, Fairfax will square off against rival Venice at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
