VIERA, Fla. - Saturday brought a surprise upset in Florida where
Viera (Fla.) triumphed over No. 233
Rockledge (Fla.) 34-14.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Cody Dentmon to
Tre Nixon in the second quarter, the Hawks was up 13-7 at the half.
The victory will ease some of the sting of Viera's close 20-19 loss to the Raiders last season.
The win was a nice bounce back for Viera, which lost to Merritt Island last week, 34-7.
Viera (1-1) goes up against Satellite in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Rockledge (0-2) locks horns with Bayside also in a non-conference game.
