Football Game Preview: Purnell Swett Rams vs. Gray's Creek Bears

The Purnell Swett Rams will challenge the Gray's Creek Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

On Friday, Purnell Swett was beaten by Scotland 63-32. Even if the Rams couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Loss or not, Purnell Swett got some senior leadership from Aidyn Locklear and Sean Locklear. Aidyn threw for 232 yards and four touchdowns, while Sean picked up 74 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Meanwhile, Gray's Creek played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Cape Fear, falling 50-20. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Colts are ranked 96th).

Gray's Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Purnell Swett, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
