Volleyball Game Preview: Gateway Charter Griffins vs. Moore Haven Terriers

Gateway Charter hasn't had much luck against Moore Haven recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Griffins will welcome the Terriers at 7:00 p.m. Moore Haven took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Gateway Charter, who comes in off a win.

Gateway Charter took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They blew past Clewiston 3-0. The Griffins haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Gateway Charter not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Clewiston between 18 and 20 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-20, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Moore Haven came up short against Martin County on Saturday and fell 2-0.

Despite the loss, Moore Haven saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kulipa Julian had 11 digs and two assists. Julian has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last eight times she's played.

Moore Haven's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Gateway Charter, their win bumped their record up to 4-11.

Gateway Charter suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Moore Haven in their previous matchup back in September. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Julian, who had 14 digs and six aces.
