Soccer Game Preview: Lincoln Southwest vs. Norfolk

The Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks will be taking part in a tournament against the Norfolk Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lincoln Southwest is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Kearney, who was ranked sixth at the time (Lincoln Southwest was ranked 13th). The Silver Hawks came out on top against the Bearcats by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. Lincoln Southwest haven't had any issues with Kearney recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Lincoln Southwest hit Kearney with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Eli Riese, Yai Tong, and Seth Farley.

Meanwhile, Norfolk hadn't done well against Lincoln East recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Panthers who were credited with the victory. Norfolk got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Lincoln East's three. Even though Norfolk got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Omar Nava was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Lincoln Southwest's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Norfolk, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
