Basketball Game Preview: St. Mary Cardinals vs. DeSmet Bulldogs

St. Mary is 2-8 against DeSmet since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The St. Mary Cardinals will challenge the DeSmet Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. St. Mary knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully DeSmet likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, St. Mary strolled past Flandreau with points to spare, taking the game 60-43.

Meanwhile, DeSmet earned a 56-43 victory over Chester on Saturday.

DeSmet now has a winning record of 2-1. As for St. Mary, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

St. Mary didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against DeSmet in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 60-56 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Mary since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
