Basketball Recap: Mitchell Takes a Loss

Mitchell played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs 49-18. The Marauders have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Mitchell's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jordyn Roberts, who posted four points in addition to 12 boards and five steals, and Jessica Romero, who earned no points and seven rebounds. Those four points gave Roberts a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of JayCionna Fisher, who put up eight points along with six boards and four steals.

Ella Greenwood was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 22 points. Another player making a difference was Avery Vigil, who scored seven points.

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Pueblo Centennial, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.

Mitchell has already played their next game, a 44-21 loss against Elizabeth on the 4th. As for Pueblo Centennial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 54-41 defeat against Pueblo Central on the 5th.
