Softball Preview: Hanover Central Wildcats vs. Highland Trojans

Things were looking good for Hanover Central after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They suffered a rough 19-5 defeat at the hands of Kankakee Valley.

Sienna Stilley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabi Comia, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Highland can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Griffith an 11-0 shutout.

The team relied heavily on Hailey Thomas, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Jazmine DeJesus was another key contributor, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.

Hanover Central's loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4. As for Highland, their win bumped their record up to an identical 6-4.
