Pomeroy strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past the St. John-Endicott Eagles 86-12. Considering the Pirates have won three games by more than 49 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Rory McKeirnan produced another solid performance rushing for 102 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries, while also picking up 85 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 102 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Vinnie Vecchio, who rushed for 14 yards and two TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pomeroy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 296 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. John-Endicott only rushed for 103.
Pomeroy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kyzer Herres and Nolan Newberg. Herres has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.
Pomeroy's record is now 5-0. As for St. John-Endicott, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
