Baseball Game Preview: Atascadero Greyhounds vs. San Luis Obispo Tigers

For the first time this season, Atascadero will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Thursday. They are taking a road trip to face off against the San Luis Obispo Tigers at 4:30 p.m. San Luis Obispo took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Atascadero, who comes in off a win.

Atascadero barely beat Nipomo the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Atascadero was the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Nipomo on Tuesday. The Greyhounds have beaten the Titans the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Titans has come to flipping the script.

The team relied heavily on Damon Mitchell, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, San Luis Obispo was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They came up short against Mission College Prep, falling 11-1.

San Luis Obispo saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Hall, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Atascadero now has a winning record of 3-2. As for San Luis Obispo, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Atascadero beat San Luis Obispo 8-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will Atascadero repeat their success, or does San Luis Obispo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
