Volleyball Game Preview: Wheat Ridge Farmers vs. Mountain Range Mustangs

The Wheat Ridge Farmers will head out on the road to square off against the Mountain Range Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Wheat Ridge is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Skyview just ended the team's four-match winning streak two weeks ago. They lost 3-0 to the Wolverines.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-10, 25-8.

Despite their loss, Wheat Ridge saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Adele Valdez, who had 24 assists and five digs, was perhaps the best of all. Thea Schutter was another key player, getting 13 digs.

Meanwhile, Mountain Range came up short against Boulder on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The final score came out to 26-24, 27-25, 25-18.

Mountain Range's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Wheat Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Wheat Ridge couldn't quite get it done against Mountain Range when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Farmers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
