Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Laken Vinskovich and Brooklyn Burley Lead Union Local to Victory

Union Local's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the St. Clairsville Red Devils with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Jets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Devils, too.

Union Local not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept St. Clairsville between 15 and 18 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-15, 25-18.

Union Local was led to victory by Brooklyn Burley and Laken Vinskovich. Burley had seven digs and two assists, while Vinskovich hit 65.2% for 15 kills and 21 digs, four blocks, and two aces. Those 21 digs gave Vinskovich a new career-high.

Union Local is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, St. Clairsville fell to 8-1.

Union Local has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Barnesville on the 11th. As for St. Clairsville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Edison on the 10th.
