Two dominant backs in Demarcus Belton and Isaiah Ford are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Alvarado Indians will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Castleberry Lions at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Alvarado's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They really took it to Life Waxahachie for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-0 victory. The win was just business as usual for the Indians, who after seven games remain undefeated this season.

It was another big night for KJ Jenkins, who threw for 242 yards and three TDs while completing 72.2% of his passes. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Paul Rios got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.
Alvarado's run defense was locked in: Life Waxahachie could only muster 2.4 yards per carry. The Indians hasn't allowed more than 9.3 yards per carry in three consecutive games.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Alvarado, adding 22 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Rios, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from Dj Clampitt.
Meanwhile, Castleberry hadn't done well against Lake Worth recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Lions simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bullfrogs 50-13. With the Lions ahead 35-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Castleberry's win came from a few key players Alvarado will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Bryan Ceniceros, who picked up 90 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Alvarado's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Castleberry, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
The upcoming matchup will be a clash of competing strengths. Alvarado has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 290.3 passing yards per game. Castleberry, on the other hand, has relied on a stout run game: they average 254.5 rushing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
