Softball Game Preview: Ithaca/Weston vs. Royall Panthers

Ithaca/Weston will square off against the Royall Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Ithaca/Weston 3.6, Royall 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Ithaca/Weston is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hillsboro, sneaking past 8-6. Winning may never get old, but Ithaca/Weston sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Meanwhile, Royall never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past De Soto 11-0. Considering the Panthers have won 14 contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Aunika Wopat was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Kayla Rick was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Royall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as De Soto only posted a batting average of .167.

Ithaca/Weston's record is now 18-4. As for Royall, their record now sits at 20-6.
