Softball Game Preview: Como-Pickton Eagles vs. Chisum Mustangs

The Como-Pickton Eagles will challenge the Chisum Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Como-Pickton has nine straight wins, Chisum has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, Como-Pickton made easy work of Big Sandy and carried off a 17-2 victory. Considering the Eagles have won 12 games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Chisum's offense. They lost 15-0 to Mount Vernon on Tuesday.

Como-Pickton pushed their record up to 15-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Chisum, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.

Everything went Como-Pickton's way against Chisum in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Como-Pickton made off with a 15-3 win. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
