Volleyball Recap: Greendale Panthers vs. Racine Case Eagles

Greendale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Racine Case Eagles. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2016.

Sophia Schroeder paced Greendale's offense, picking up four kills. Schroeder got some help from Cadence Weidel and her eight assists. Weidel was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Racine Case's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elise Webster led the charge by getting nine digs and two aces. What's more, Webster posted three assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024. Hailey Pedrosa also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

Greendale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Racine Case, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-7.

Coming up, Greendale will take on Pius XI Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Racine Case, they will challenge Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season.
