Basketball Recap: Benavides Comes Up Short

Benavides was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 30-25 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bruni Badgers. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Badgers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Benavides' defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Bruni, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing McMullen County the next time they take the court. Bruni will head out to face McMullen County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Benavides will host them at 6:30 p.m. on January 17th.
