Football Game Preview: Edmonds-Woodway Warriors vs. Ferndale Golden Eagles

The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors will head out to challenge the Ferndale Golden Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Edmonds-Woodway is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Mountlake Terrace on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Warriors took a blow against the Hawks, falling 45-7. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-0.

Meanwhile, Ferndale lost 33-7 to Sedro-Woolley on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Cubs are ranked 29th).

Edmonds-Woodway's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Ferndale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Edmonds-Woodway took a serious blow against Ferndale in their previous matchup back in October of 2023, falling 49-14. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
