Grand County is 9-1 against South Sevier since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Red Devils will be playing at home against the Rams at 2:00 p.m. Grand County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Grand County's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Kanab 11-0. The victory continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Cowboys: they've now won three in a row.
Chloe Byrd made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Danika Hirschfeld, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Elizabeth Redd was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Grand County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, South Sevier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 10-7 to Enterprise.
South Sevier saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Navey Lindsay, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run. Another was Kinsey Parsons, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.
Grand County's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for South Sevier, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Grand County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like South Sevier struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Grand County's way against South Sevier when the teams last played back in April of 2022, as Grand County made off with a 15-1 victory. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
