Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Liv Roach and Kenedi Bradley Lead Chesterton to Victory

With a playoff win on the line, Chesterton rose to the challenge on Friday. They secured a 58-54 W over the Merrillville Pirates. That's two games straight that the Trojans have won by exactly four points.

Chesterton was led to victory by Kenedi Bradley and Liv Roach. Bradley went 8 for 9 en route to 23 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Roach went 5 of 11 on her way to 12 points and seven boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bradley has scored at least a third of Chesterton's points.

When it comes to explaining why Merrillville lost, don't look at Malika Jenkins. Despite the final result, she went 8 for 20 to rack up 20 points in addition to seven assists and five steals. With that strong performance, Jenkins is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyesha Davis, who posted seven points along with six steals and five boards.

Chesterton is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points over those games. As for Merrillville, their loss dropped their record down to 15-7.

Chesterton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 33-26 defeat against Valparaiso on the 8th. Merrillville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
