Baseball Recap: Faribault Takes a Loss

Faribault extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-11 in the process. They lost 13-0 to the Albert Lea Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 9-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Albert Lea, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4. The matchup marked their most dominant victory of the season.

For Albert Lea's part, Logan Davis made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Davis has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Easton Schewe was incredible, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Westeng, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Faribault is set to challenge their familiar foe Austin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Albert Lea will square off against rival Red Wing at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.9, the Wingers 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
