Basketball Recap: Arcanum Falls Despite Big Games from Lexy Gibbons and Caroline Long

Arcanum managed to keep up with St. Henry until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Arcanum Trojans lost 45-24 to the St. Henry Redskins. Having soared to a lofty 65 points in the game before, the Trojans couldn't push the score so high this time.

Arcanum's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Caroline Long, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds, and Lexy Gibbons, who posted 11 points. Long has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times she's played. Claire Hein also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Arcanum's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for St. Henry, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Arcanum does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Henry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lima Central Catholic at 2:00 p.m. on February 15th.
