Baseball Recap: Buckeye Comes Up Short

Buckeye lost against Rio Rico back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Buckeye came up short against Rio Rico, falling 13-1. Buckeye just can't catch a break and has now endured four defeats in a row.

Buckeye saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddox Villegas, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Buckeye's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Rio Rico, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-7.

Looking ahead, Buckeye will take on Northwest Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rio Rico, they will square off against Snowflake at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lobos have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
