Basketball Recap: Fox Valley Lutheran Skates Past Shawano Community with Ease

Fox Valley Lutheran won the last time they faced Shawano Community and things went their way on Thursday too. The Foxes blew past the Hawks 65-29. The Foxes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 22 points or more this season.

Fox Valley Lutheran's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Dahlke, who posted 14 points and six boards. Dahlke has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Gabe Heiges, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 16 points.

Fox Valley Lutheran smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

The victory (which was Fox Valley Lutheran's fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.6 points over those games. As for Shawano Community, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Fox Valley Lutheran will head out to take on McFarland at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Foxes will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Shawano Community, they have already played their next matchup, an 82-69 victory against Clintonville on the 19th.
