Basketball Recap: Ravenswood Takes a Loss

Ravenswood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 52-34 bruising from the Doddridge County Bulldogs. The Red Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

Doddridge County was led to victory by Payton Trent and Brooke Dehaven. Trent went 7 of 16 on her way to 15 points and three steals, while Dehaven posted six points in addition to 17 rebounds and five steals. Trent is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aleigh Cheeseman, who had six points and three steals.

Ravenswood's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Doddridge County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Ravenswood will head out to face off against Robert C. Byrd at 12:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Doddridge County, they will host Philip Barbour at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
