Soccer Game Preview: Galax vs. Graham

The Galax Maroon Tide will square off against the Graham G-Men at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Graham will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Galax extended their winning streak to three on Monday. The Maroon Tide's defense stepped up to hand Giles an 8-0 shutout. Given Galax's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Giles are ranked 188th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Graham waltzed into their match on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 5-2 victory. Blake Graham was a massive factor in the win as he booted in four goals all by himself.

Galax's win bumped their record up to 8-2-1. As for Graham, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1-2.

Galax was able to grind out a solid win over Graham in their previous meeting back in March, winning 3-1. Do the Maroon Tide have another victory up their sleeve, or will the G-Men turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
