Baseball Recap: Cumberland County Gets the Win

While Cumberland County's win against Clarkrange wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Jets narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Buffaloes 3-2. The Jets haven't had any issues with the Buffaloes recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Kellen Burnett was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Eli Glup also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Cumberland County's victory bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Clarkrange, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Cumberland County will head out to face off against Monterey at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clarkrange, they will host Scott at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Highlanders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something the Buffaloes will no doubt try to take advantage of.
