The home team had won the previous four meetings between West Texas and Sunray, and Sunray kept the tradition alive. The West Texas Comanches took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sunray Bobcats on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Comanches of the 18-14 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

West Texas' defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-2. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Sunray, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

While West Texas had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
