Football Recap: Menendez Takes a Loss

Menendez fell victim to Ponte Vedra and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They were outmatched by the Sharks and fell 33-0. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Sharks are ranked 22nd).

Ponte Vedra found their leader in sophomore Izzy Murray, who threw for 230 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of her passes.

Menendez's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Ponte Vedra, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1.

Coming up, Menendez will host Crescent City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ponte Vedra, they will head out on the road to take on Yulee at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Sharks 7.1, the Hornets 6.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
