Easley benefitted from Owens in 5-1 win
Kaleb Owens was dynamite on Tuesday, striking out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his fifth in a row with less than two walks allowed. This season, Owens has an ERA of .61 over 34.3 innings pitched.
Owens' strong effort led Easley over Westside and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Easley is 9-1 against Westside going back to March of 2018, a lead they'll look to extend.
