Football Game Preview: Liberty Lancers vs. DeSales Irish + How To Watch

The Liberty Lancers are taking a road trip to challenge the DeSales Irish at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty's defense has only allowed 13.2 points per game this season, so DeSales' offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, Liberty came up short against Kettle Falls and fell 40-28. The loss was the Lancers' first of the season.

Meanwhile, DeSales strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Yakama Nation Tribal 62-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Irish's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Eagles are ranked 50th).

Liberty better keep an eye on Cohen Wood. He was instrumental in DeSales' win, throwing for 164 yards and five TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes. What's more, Wood racked up 165.2 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Jason Guest did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 66 receiving yards.

DeSales didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Caleb Prchal led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. DeSales received some extra help from Alan Campos, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

DeSales' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.

Everything came up roses for Liberty against DeSales in their previous meeting back in November of 2017, as the squad secured a 51-7 victory. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Irish have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
