Softball Game Preview: White Plains Tigers vs. Fox Lane Foxes

White Plains is a perfect 8-0 against Fox Lane since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Tigers will face off against the Foxes at 4:00 p.m. The last four games White Plains has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Saturday, White Plains needed a bit of extra time to put away John Jay. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Patriots, sneaking past 10-9. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Alexis Tighe spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 17 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Noelle Quinones was a standout: she got on base in three of her six plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Valentina Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Carmel hit Fox Lane with a five-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Foxes fell just short of the Rams by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Foxes have suffered since April 21st.

Sammi Saldutti made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Sofia Valente was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Fox Lane's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-10. As for White Plains, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.

White Plains got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Fox Lane by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Foxes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
