The Red Bank Lions will take on the Rhea County Golden Eagles at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. Red Bank is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2  runs per game  this season.
Things were looking good for Red Bank after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Boyd-Buchanan by a score of  5-4. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Buccaneers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
  Anyer Alvarez was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring two  runs and  stealing  Four bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Jack Barkeloo, who  scored a  run and  stole  Three bases. while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Rhea County). They blew past Notre Dame 17-9 on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Golden Eagles considering their two-run performance the  matchup before.
  Casen Kinney was a standout: he scored four  runs and  stole  Five bases. while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Reese Pendergrass, who  scored three  runs and  stole  Two bases. while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 Red Bank's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Rhea County, their victory  ended  a  nine-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 2-5.
Monday's   contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Red Bank has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .435. However, it's not like Rhea County struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Red Bank beat Rhea County 10-7  in their previous meeting  back in March of 2024. Will Red Bank repeat their success,  or does  Rhea County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
