Baseball Recap: Evergreen Park Extends Winning Streak to Five

Evergreen Park put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Simeon Wolverines 15-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2016.

Carlos Flores was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Cadyn Kummer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Evergreen Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .367 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Evergreen Park pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Simeon, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coincidentally, Evergreen Park and Simeon will both be playing Amundsen the next time they take the field. Simeon will host Amundsen at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, while Evergreen Park will host them at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
