Catasauqua gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They blew past the Saucon Valley Panthers 67-46. This was payback for the Rough Riders, who suffered a 51-47 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Frankie Pujols had a dynamite game, going 9-for-17 en route to 21 points and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aalani Nix, who shot 46% from the field on his way to 13 points and five boards.

Saucon Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Thomas Cahill, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Michael Magnotta, who posted 11 points.

Saucon Valley now has a losing record of 2-3.

Catasauqua wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-47 loss against Northwestern Lehigh on the 13th. As for Saucon Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Upper Perkiomen at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
